TOADD Onlus

TOADD è una Onlus italiana, fondata nel 2013, che promuove e realizza progetti di supporto e miglioramento rispetto a realtà particolarmente disagiate. L’esperienza di alcuni di noi, impegnati in modo diretto sul territorio, è il principio della nostra proposta: essere presenti e costruire insieme un futuro sostenibile.

TOADD è il nome della nostra Onlus, scelto pensando alle due città che ci collegano – Torino ed Addis Abeba – e che sono radici dei nostri ideali e delle nostre azioni. TO ADD, in lingua inglese, significa aggiungere. E noi vogliamo aggiungere idee e nuovi progetti, anche in territori diversi, con esperienze, emozioni, riflessioni e nuove conoscenze da condividere

TOADD Onlus è una piccola associazione che, attraverso i progetti in Ethiopia, vuole sostenere realtà locali disagiate non con aiuti economici diretti ma con supporti mirati, atti a costruire nuove opportunità.TOADD Onlus gestisce il progetto della Scuolina di Addis, ad Addis Abeba in Ethiopia. Nella scuolina sono ospitati piccoli in età prescolare con l’obiettivo di fornire loro una dignitosa istruzione e supportarli nel primi anni della loro vita.

TOADD opera in Ethiopia attraverso volontari italiani ed organizzazioni no profit etiopi e straniere.

TOADD Onlus is a Non-profit Organization (NPO) based in italy , founded on March 2013. Its activities focus on provision of social, health and educational services with the aim of achivieng greater social equity. 

The intervention which triggered the birth of TOADD is the Scuolina di Addis (little school in Addis). The project has the objective of   guaranteeing an adequate support to preschool children living in one of the poorest area of Addis Abeba, the capital city of   Ethiopia. In these years, the kindergarten, legally recognized by the Ethiopian Government, has reached important educational, health and nutritional results. 

Every year, thank to your support, new initiatives are taking place. Among others, a health intervention, named after "Candida Gardetto" , which offers the opportunity to children and mothers to receive health care on regular basis. Other initiatives focus on capacity building/vocational training for the mothers (cooking, hair dressing, sewing) with the objective to increase their income and improve the well-being of their families. 

We choose the name TOADD thinking of the two cities that are joning us - TORINO and ADDIS ABEBA- which represent the environment,l humus and roots for our ideals and actions. 

TOADD also meand to add ideas, new projects - aloso in new areas - and, for each of us, emotions, reflections and new experiences to share.
